| DEADLINE EXTENDED for 2005 CRF National Teach-in |
|
|
The deadline for the CRF National Teach-In has been extended to January 31, 2005. The Constitutional Rights Foundation (CRF) and the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago (CRFC) invite middle and high school classes across the United States to participate in peer-to-peer learning on fundamental ideas of American democracy through the Second Annual CRF National Teach-In. CRF and CRFC will sponsor the national teach-in for 150 classes of middle and high school students in coordination with National Youth Service Day, April 15-17, 2005. The teach-in will focus on curricular units devoted to the core issues of security, liberty, justice, and equality in American society. Interested classes simply need to complete and submit the national Teach-in Registration Form, which is available on the National Teach-In web site. Participating classes agree to: identify the lesson they want to teach and conduct a teach-in on or before National Youth Service Day; report their activity to the Constitutional Rights Foundation; and write to their Representative in Congress about their work. The first 150 classes to register and agree to these requirements will receive a mini-grant of $150 which may be used to buy materials to conduct their teach-in, provide law-related education resources for their class or school library, host a teach-in conference with another school, or donate to a school club or charity. To download an application or for more information, visit the 2005 CRF National Teach-In web site. The National Teach-In is a program of the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago in support of Youth for Justice, the national coordinated law-related education program of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the Unites States Department of Justice. Support for this program is provided in part by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the United States Department of Justice. Any ideas or opinions expressed during this institute do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of OJJDP or the United States Department of Justice. |
