Dear State LRE Center Directors,

We are pleased to announce a collaborative effort between Street Law, Inc. and Constitutional Rights Foundation to provide training to up to 40 school resource officers and community-based police officers. The trainings will take place on the West Coast (in Los Angeles November 19-20th, 2003) and on the East Coast (in suburban Washington DC March 9 - 11th 2004.) Please see the informational flyer and applications below for more details.

How can state centers be involved, if you wish?

• Please forward copies of the program flyer and applications to whomever you think could benefit most from this training. If there are particular officers who could help you in your work at the state center, encourage them to apply and let us know to watch for their applications.

• We will contact you again and invite your input about any applications we receive from your state. (Some officers will learn of this opportunity through channels other than your referral and we want to find out if you know them.)

• We have also reserved up to two spaces at each training for interested and qualifying state LRE center staff. The slots are for people who are interested in enhancing their training programs for SROs and community police officers.
