Project PEACE (Peaceful Endings through Attorneys, Children and Educators) is a conflict resolution education, peer mediation training and bullying prevention program implemented in Indiana by the Indiana State Bar Association in partnership with the Indiana Attorney General's Office. In Indiana, the Indiana Department of Education has become the driving force behind the program. This public-private partnership introduces dispute resolution techniques to school students at all levels. Indiana Attorney General Pam Carter brought Project PEACE to Indiana in 1993 using a design created by LEAP-Kids Executive Director and Project PEACE head trainer David Keller Trevaskis. Though the program has changed over the years, adding curriculum connections and bullying prevention, the initial goal of General Carter to help children peacefully resolve their disputes remains the mission of Indiana Project PEACE. Indiana Department of Education support has meant that the Indiana program has been researched and those findings are available through Gina Woodward at woodward@doe.state.in.us or 317-232-9136.
