Freedom's Answer

If last September 11th was one of our nation’s darkest days...
This September 11th can be on of our brightest.

Though not every American can join the fight for freedom overseas, most Americans can VOTE and help send an unmistakable message to the world: FREEDOM IS ALIVE AND WELL

Freedom’s Answer will get pledges from every voter we can find -- REGISTER new voters -- and make sure they all turn-out the polls on Election Day.

Which candidate or party wins is less important than that FREEDOM WINS.

And freedom wins when all who CAN VOTE DO VOTE!

WHAT IS FREEDOM’S ANSWER?

We’re a totally non-partisan, non-profit national campaign to maximize voting on November 5, 2002 to prove the strength of America’s freedom to anyone, anywhere who had ever doubted it.

Starting this September 11th, all citizens will be asked to vote on Election Day -- and to do so to honor those who risk their lives for the very freedom the right to vote represents.

No one participating in Freedom’s Answer will ever ask anyone to register for a particular party or vote for a particular candidate. Which candidate or party wins is less important than that freedom wins. And freedom wins when all who can vote do vote.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

Anyone and everyone. While our Youth Voter Corps of volunteers is being organized at high schools across the country, we encourage every citizen to visit our Web site at www.freedomsAnswer.net and sign up for our Take Ten or Adopt a Block programs -- or simply invent your own way to get your neighbors, friends, co-workers and family to help produce the largest possible vote in your community.

If You’re Too Young To Vote

Get your parents, grandparents, and neighbors to pledge to vote.

If You’re A Voter

Take your friends and co-workers to the polls with you.

If You’re An Employer

You should encourage your employees to vote, give them the time to do som and get them to volunteer through www.FreedomsAnswer.net.

If You’re A Parent

You can help teach your children the value of voting and civic responsibility and you can make sure their high school is taking part in Freedom’s Answer.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

It’s really very simple. Come to the Web site -- www.FreedomsAnswer.net - and enroll in either the Take Ten or Adopt a Block programs (and learn about lots of other simple ways you can help without enrolling in a specific program).

The Take Ten program asks you to find ten friends, co-workers, or neighbors whom you will make sure vote on Election Day. If they’re not registered, our Web site will help you get them registered. We provide all the forms, resources, and step-by-step guides you’ll need on our Web site.

Adopt a Block is very similar. This program asks you to take all of your neighbors on your street block (or in you apartment building) and have then promise you that they will register and vote. We’ll give you the forms they can sign to request registration information and to make a pledge to vote on Election Day.

Go to the Web site: www.FreedomsAnswer.net and sign up today!

WHAT IS THE YOUTH VOTER CORPS?

While every American in the country can be a part of Freedom’s Answer, the "ground troops" for the campaign will come from high school students in the Youth Voter Corps. The Corps will be organized as an optional service in every high school.

THE GOAL OF THE CORPS:
• Make sure all classmates are registered and vote when they’re 18;
• In states where allowed, volunteer to be trained poll workers to assist with new and overflow workers;
• Take part in either the Take Ten or Adopt a Block programs.

A special Youth Voter Corps section of the Web site will provide all the needed resources. Curriculum materials, created specially for our project by the Center for Civic Education and the Newspaper Association of America, will help high school teachers participate in Freedom’s Answer.
