Curious about what non-criminal activities can be monitored by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the Attorney General's recently revised Guidelines on General Crimes, Racketeering Enterprise and Terrorism Enterprise Investigations? Then check out the web site for the 2003 Illinois Youth Summit. Now on-line, the site features: A resource guide On-line resources, documents, information, and analysis for each specific policy as well as the larger background issues An on-line survey that highlights questions on the focus issues as well a running tally of overall results Links to the Youth for Justice Youth Summit web site and resources The survey is open to any interested participant, and all the materials, resources, and information are available for use in any setting at no cost [just acknowledge CRFC when using materials]. Originally begun through the Youth for Justice Youth Summit initiative in 1995 and now in its ninth year, the Illinois Youth Summit is coordinated each spring by the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago. The theme for the 2003 Summit is "Safety and Freedom After September 11." All three issues were selected in December by representatives of more than 1,300 students from 21 participating high schools. Delegates from each school will gather on May 1 for a culminating "summit" with federal policymakers and outside experts to share their insights, exchange ideas, and offer recommendations on these policies. |
